Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested a suspected cocaine trafficker. He was identified as Ukaegbu Bright Onyekachi at the Muritala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos.

Onyekachi boarded Ethiopian airways from São Paulo, Brazil through Addis Ababa and arrived in Nigeria. He was caught with 3.30 kilograms of the illegal drug when inward clearance of passengers was going on in the Ethiopian Airlines at the E arrival hall of the MMIA.

NDLEA commander at MMIA, Ahmadu Garba said “the hard drug was cleverly concealed in T-shirts stickers” but was caught by eagle-eyed investigators.

The NDLEA had said in another statement that it made huge seizures of cocaine and heroin worth over N30 billion at the Muritala Muhammed International Airport Ikeja, Lagos.

One of the seizures, 26.840 kilograms of cocaine, is the biggest single seizure from an individual in the past 15 years. An official of the agency who spoke on condition of anonymity said.
