Nasarawa police release 10 minors detained during nationwide protests

The Nasarawa State Police Command has released 10 minors who were detained during the nationwide protests in the state.

This was disclosed by DSP Ramhan Nansel, the Police Public Relations Officer, in an interview with NAN on Thursday in Lafia.

The minors were among 50 protesters arrested on August 1 across four different Local Government Areas for allegedly attacking police personnel and engaging in looting during the protests.

Of the detained individuals, 25 were arrested in Lafia, 16 in Karu, six in Keffi, and three in Mararaba Udege of Nasarawa Local Government Area.

According to Nansel, the 10 minors have been released to their parents and guardians. The remaining 40 protesters have been charged to court.

The police spokesperson urged the public to continue with their lawful activities without fear of intimidation.
