Talented footballer, Chinedu Ohanachom scored the winner for Nasarawa United, who moved to the top of the Nigeria Professional Football League table after they defeated Warri Wolves 2-1 on Sunday at the Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro.

Ohanachom’s strike helped Nasarawa extend their unbeaten run in the NPFL to six games, having recorded four wins and two draws.

With this, Nasarawa United have produced arguably the major talking point of match day 6 in the Nigeria Professional Football League.

Before the match, the Solid Miners had recorded three wins and 2 draws and they knew a trip to Ozoro will test the quality they’ve shown this season.

Uche Ihuarulam gave home side Wolves the lead after 21 minutes but Silas Nwankwo restored parity three minutes after the hour mark.

At the Godswill Akpabio stadium, Uyo, Sadeeq Yusuf scored twice for Sunshine Stars to help the visitors defeat Dakkada 2-1 and move to sixth in the table.

With the brace, Yusuf becomes the first Sunshine player to score in three consecutive matches in the NPFL since Isreal Abia in December 2019.

Jesam Edet grabbed a consolation goal in the 71st minute for Danlami Kwasau’s side.

At the Kwara Sports Complex, Ilorin, Kwara United extended their unbeaten run at home to three after defeating IfeanyiUbah 1-0.

Olawale Farayola scored the match winner four minuites from time for the Harmony Boys.

Heartland also overcame Akwa United 2-1 at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.

Goals from Samuel Nnoshiri and Nduka Eze in the 52nd and 80th minutes cancelled out Mfon Udoh’s 34th minute opener.

MFM recorded their second point away from home following their goalless draw at Abia Warriors. The result further puts Warriors manager Imama Amapakabo future in doubt after the club handed him a three-match ultimatum. The Warriors are winless in six games.

Enugu Rangers and Lobi Stars also played out a goalless draw at the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium.
