N110.4 billion fraud charges: Yahaya Bello faces court showdown
Former Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello is being summoned to court to answer to a staggering 16-count charge related to an alleged N110.4 billion breach of trust.
The High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Maitama has set October 24 as the date for Bello’s anticipated arraignment, alongside co-defendants Umar Oricha and Abdulsalami Hudu.
Justice Maryanne Anenih’s ruling on October 3 has taken an unprecedented step, mandating the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to issue a public summons in a widely circulated newspaper and to post notices at Bello’s last known address and within the court premises.
