Mykhailo Mudryk vs. England has Chelsea fans asking questions

Chelsea fans lose faith in new signing

Arsenal fans may have a reason to laugh at Chelsea hijacking their transfer in Mykhailo Mudryk, but the Chelsea fans have a lot to be worried about following the star’s display against England at the Euro qualifying round.

Mykhailo Mudryk, Chelsea’s latest signing, has come under heavy criticism from fans following a poor showing during Ukraine’s Euro 2024 qualifying match against England at Wembley. The game ended in a 2-0 defeat for Ukraine, with Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka scoring for England in the first half.

Mudryk, who joined Chelsea for £89 million in January, has yet to score in seven games and does not appear to be first-choice under Graham Potter, however his performance against England did little to endear him to fans, who have now lost faith in the young winger.

Playing on the left, Mudryk struggled to make an impact on the game, with his only notable contribution being an accidental block of a teammate’s shot in the first half. He had 30 touches but managed just one successful take-on and lost possession 12 times. He was substituted just after the hour mark.

Fans took to social media to express their disappointment in Mudryk’s performance, with some suggesting that he is not ready for top-level football. Others questioned his abilities, wondering what he is actually good at.

One fan even went as far as to say that Anthony Elanga, a relatively unknown player at Manchester United, has more to offer than Mudryk.

It remains to be seen whether Mudryk will be able to turn his fortunes around and win over his critics, both at Chelsea and on the international stage. However, this latest setback will not have done him any favours.
