My twin brother wrote a petition against me at the EFCC – Paul Okoye Of P-Square speaks

Well-known singer, Paul Okoye of the PSquare duo has narrated how the EFCC once invited him after Peter Okoye, his twin brother filed a petition against him last year in December 2023.

While speaking in an interview with City 105.5 FM, the singer, Paul Okoye revealed that while being grilled by the EFCC, he was threatened to the extent of being told that he was going to stay in prison for 20 years.

Rudeboy said the EFCC printed out his account statements and presented them as they grilled him.

According to him, the anti-theft agency officials asked about certain payments made into his account which his brother didn’t receive even though they were still a group known as P-Square and should have similar earnings.

Paul Okoye pointed out that the charges his brother levelled against him were to some money going back to 2006 or 2007. EFCC asked him why his brother did not get credited around $200,000 placed in his account.

Paul said his way of life differs from his brother’s. That explains why he has more in his account: he puts his in savings while Peter, his brother uses his share to purchase fancy goods.

He said he explained this to the EFCC officials while being interrogated.

Given how deep the EFCC probed into his financial records, he said, he would have been done for if he had been involved in fraud.

After their inquiry, Paul Okoye claimed the EFCC authorities ruled him innocent.

About a month ago, he said, there was a family meeting between him and his brothers. Despite being found not guilty of the claim brought against him by his twin brother, Peter Okoye never paid him apologies during the meeting.

Paul said he’s addressing the allegations now because he has brands he works with and he doesn’t want it to affect his work.
