Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk has been provisionally suspended from football after testing positive for a banned substance, as confirmed by the Football Association (FA).
The Ukrainian star, who has missed Chelsea’s last five games, was flagged following a routine urine test. However, Mudryk and the club remain adamant about his innocence, with the player categorically stating he has “never knowingly used any banned substances.”
Chelsea released a firm statement backing their player:
“Both the Club and Mykhailo fully support the FA’s testing programme… Mykhailo and the Club will now work with the relevant authorities to establish what has caused the adverse finding.”
Reports suggest the substance in question is only available overseas, adding another layer of mystery to the situation. The FA and Chelsea now await results from Mudryk’s B sample, which will determine the next steps.
While the Blues rally behind the 23-year-old, fans are left shocked by the unexpected news:
Is this a misunderstanding, or will Mudryk’s Chelsea dream unravel further? The football world awaits answers as the saga unfolds.
