Former’s presidential aide, Reno Omokri has given his two cents on how to overcome poverty mentality and attain wealth.
Taking to the micro-blogging platform, Twitter, the author stated that poverty is not caused by generational curses, but by generational bad habits triggered by one’s environment.
According to him, the environment and its neighborhood affect business opportunities that would be available.
Reno Omokri continued further stating that 9ne should adapt in stating at a high rent district even though it has to be a one-room apartment in that district as one would be aware of various opportunities.
He tweeted: “Where you live affects opportunities available to you. By living in a high rent district, you will be aware of more job or business opportunities than those in a low rent district. Your proximity to opportunity gives you an edge over those living in a low-rent area.
Your neighbourhood affects your wealth perspective. If you live in a low rent area and get $1000, you may feel you’ve arrived, because you are better than others. But in a high rent area, you realise $1000 is nothing, and that challenges you to improve your earning.
“Better to be an average guy in a high rent area than be a lord in a ghetto. Move from a low rent area even if you have to live in a room in a high rent area. Poverty is not caused by generational curses, but by generational bad habits triggered by your environment.
“You are the average of the 5 people you hang around with the most. Your neighbours either add to your labour or your favour. That is why you should choose where you live wisely. Slums often come with scums. It is hard to rise above your location.”
