Mother of Kate Henshaw is dead

A sad day it is for the Nigerian movie industry, popularly referred to as Nollywood, as death hits for 2 stars of the industry following the passing of comic actor, Mr. Ibu and the mother of star actress, Kate Henshaw.

The death of the mother of the acclaimed Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw was confirmed by Emeka Rollas, the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN).

Rollas took to Instagram to announce the heartbreaking news, revealing that the mother of the talented actress passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024. In his post, Rollas expressed condolences to Henshaw and her family, acknowledging the somber day for the Actors Guild of Nigeria.

Rollas’ Instagram statement read,

“Sad Day for Actors Guild of Nigeria. Kate Henshaw lost her mother earlier today and Mr Ibu suffered cardiac arrest according to his manager for 24 years, Mr. Don Single Nwuzor. I announce with deep sense of grief that Mr Ibu didn’t make it. May his soul rest in peace. @actorsguildofnigeria”

The passing of Kate Henshaw’s mother adds to the recent string of losses within the Nigerian entertainment community, coming shortly after the death of veteran Nollywood actor, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu.
