More details on the sudden death of Patoranking’s sister and spouse
Film producer, Seun Oloketuyi has given fresh details on the untimely demise of Nigerian singer Patrick [Patoranking] Nnaemeka Okorie’s sister, Chioma, and her husband, George O. Buchi.
TopNaija had reported that the young couple met with their untimely death during the course of the week. According to reports, they died due to a gas explosion incident in their home.
However, in a recent update, film producer and media personality Seun Oloketuyi gave more details from Chioma’s close friend, Uchechi.
She said that on the day the tragic event happened, Patoranking’s sister, Chioma, and her hubby, George, were upstairs having a peaceful afternoon with their three-year-old son, blissfully oblivious to the impending disaster. George suddenly noticed a strange, burning stench coming from the atmosphere. Being observant, he then decided to find out the cause, and Chioma trailed closely behind, leaving their infant soundly asleep upstairs.
Uchechi said as they approached the door to identify the source of the ominous scent, catastrophe struck—a deafening explosion tore through their home, leaving George severely burned and plunging him into a coma. Chioma, too, suffered burns but showed incredible resilience, managing to call friends and her father for help before neighbors rushed them to the hospital.
She described how Chioma, despite her injuries, remained coherent enough to take calls. Sadly, she succumbed to her injuries on August 30 at around 7:38 PM.
The story was further complicated by the accusations of a gas explosion being quickly refuted. The couple’s inverter battery and gas cylinder were not the cause of the explosion, according to Seun Oloketuyi’s inquiry, and the generator home was situated some distance away from the main structure.
