“Money, bonuses should be the last discussion” — Jose Peseiro

In the press conference leading up to the Super Eagles’ crucial Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) match against Equatorial Guinea on Sunday, head coach Jose Peseiro emphasized the team’s immediate focus on achieving positive results rather than dwelling on financial matters.

Peseiro addressed questions regarding the settlement of his outstanding salaries and payments owed to the players by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

The Portuguese coach dismissed concerns about financial issues, stating that the team’s primary objective at the ongoing AFCON is to secure good results.

Peseiro asserted,

“Money and bonuses should be the last discussion; we need good results first. We all need money, but money is the last discussion.”

Refusing to divulge details about his salary and bonuses, Peseiro maintained that such matters are not to be discussed with the media.

The Super Eagles’ coach expressed a singular focus on the upcoming match against Equatorial Guinea, following a setback in their previous friendly encounter against Guinea.
