Ministerial screening ends, Buhari reveals when portfolios will be assigned

President Muhammadu Buhari will assign portfolios to his ministers when his cabinet is formally inaugurated. This is according to a tweet from his verified Twitter page on Tuesday. Recall that, the Senate concluded ministerial screening of the 43 nominees he sent to them yesterday, Tuesday 30th July.

“I welcome the conclusion of the confirmation process for Ministerial nominees. I commend the Senate for speedily attending to this very important task.

“Portfolios will be assigned when the Cabinet is formally inaugurated. I look forward to working with this very capable team,” the tweet read.

All the 43 ministerial nominees sent to the Red Chamber have now been confirmed. The lawmakers had postponed their annual vacation to conduct the ministerial screening within five days.
