Mike Tyson’s in-flight medical scare ahead of Jake Paul fight in two months
Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson encountered a medical emergency during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles on Sunday, confirmed by his representatives.
The 57-year-old boxer felt nauseous and dizzy, prompting flight staff to request assistance from a doctor onboard. Paramedics provided treatment upon landing in Los Angeles, after a two-hour delay due to Miami’s heat.
Tyson’s representatives attributed the episode to an ulcer flare-up, assuring he is now in good condition and grateful for the medical staff’s help.
Symptoms of an ulcer flare-up include nausea, vomiting, bloating, belching, gas pain, chest pain, and fatigue.
Mike Tyson’s health incident precedes his scheduled fight against YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in Arlington by two months.
Eyewitnesses reported the in-flight emergency, noting that paramedics were called upon arrival at LAX.
Passengers were briefed about Mike Tyson’s health condition and asked to remain on the plane for paramedic assistance.
Preparations for his upcoming fight include Tyson’s temporary abstention from marijuana, a substance he typically uses daily, as it is banned by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. He has also disclosed abstaining from sex as part of his training regimen.
