Ex-housemate of the Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) reality show, Mike Edwards has recounted how his older brother died of sickle cell anaemia in Nigeria when he was 10 years old.

The reality star actor took to his social media pages on Saturday to share a picture of himself with his two other siblings.

According to him, Matthew wouldn’t have died from the red blood disease if Nigeria had a better healthcare system.

“My older brother Matthew lost his life during a sickle cell crisis in Nigeria when he was 10 years old, to think if he would have been in a country with better health care support that his life would be saved today is heartbreaking,” he wrote.

Mike also had something to say on the current campaign aimed at tackling misconducts of operatives of the now-disbanded special anti-robbery squad (SARS), corruption and general hardships in the country.

“The fight to End SARS is our cry for help after years of corruption and bad governance,” he added.

In August, Mike, who emerged the runner-up of the 2019 BBNaija reality show, announced the arrival of a new child with Perri, his wife.
