Microsoft rolls out first major Windows 11 update of 2024
Microsoft has announced the initial rollout of the first significant Windows 11 update of the year, internally code-named “Moment 5.”
This latest update introduces a host of new features and improvements but should not be confused with the larger annual update planned for later this year. Today’s update will be delivered like a routine security patch, offering enhancements to the Copilot AI assistant, better integrations with Android phones, tweaks to Widgets, and more.
Key Highlights of the update

Gradual Rollout and Availability
Not all features will be available immediately. Microsoft will gradually roll out some features via app updates in the Microsoft Store and others through Windows Update using its Control Feature rollout technology. This ensures a quality experience for everyone.
Users running Windows 11 22H2 and 23H2 can get the update today by selecting the “Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available” option under Windows Update. Otherwise, the update will be included in a routine security update release later in April. Most new features will be enabled by default in the March 2024 optional non-security preview.
