Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella takes bold move on ousted OpenAI Chief

Executive Chairman and CEO of Microsoft, Satya Nadella, has taken a controversial step towards ousted OpenAI executive, Sam Altman.

In response to the firing of Altman, the Microsoft CEO in a Twitter post, announced that the former OpenAI executive will be joining Microsoft.

Sam Altman currently faces allegations of sexual abuse from sister, Annie Altman whose previous post on the micro blogging platform now known as X, had alleged a series of abuse by her siblings.

Though nothing has been said by OpenAI on the allegations, the company made a decision to oust the executive, however giving a different reason behind the move.

The move by Satya Nadella to welcome Altman into the Microsoft fold has sparked reactions, specifically from Tesla and X CEO, Elon Musk.

Musk who took a jab at the situation, wrote under Nadella’s post;

 “Now they will have to use Teams!”

The Indian-American CEO, on the reason behind bringing in Altman, stated on his X handle;

“We remain committed to our partnership with OpenAl and have confidence in our product roadmap, our ability to continue to innovate with everything we announced at Microsoft Ignite, and in continuing to support our customers and partners.

“We look forward to getting to know Emmett Shear and OAl’s new leadership team and working with them.

“And we’re extremely excited to share the news that Sam Altman and Greg Brockman, together with colleagues, will be joining Microsoft to lead a new advanced Al research team.

“We look forward to moving quickly to provide them with the resources needed for their success.” Satya Nadella stressed.

In a related news, Emmett Shear, the newly appointed Interim CEO of OpenAI, has promised to revamp the company’s management and investigate the removal of co-founder and former CEO, Sam Altman, within his initial 30 days in charge.

Shear plans to enlist an “independent investigator” to delve into the mishandled process and communication surrounding Altman’s departure, acknowledging its detrimental impact on trust.

This move was announced via a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday.
