Mexican footballer Diego Chavez dies in Car Crash

Mexican striker Diego Chavez, known for his role with FC Juarez, tragically passed away at the age of 28 following a fatal car accident.

Reports from TUDN indicate that Chavez lost control of his red Volkswagen Beetle, resulting in a collision with a pole, leaving him trapped inside the vehicle.

FC Juarez confirmed Chavez’s untimely death and paid a heartfelt tribute to their beloved player on Wednesday.

Their official Facebook page conveyed the somber news, highlighting Chavez’s vibrant personality, dedication, and love for the team’s colors during his tenure.

The Mexican club expressed profound sorrow over the loss, emphasizing that Chavez’s passing deeply affected everyone associated with the institution, describing him as more than just a player but a cherished member of their extended family.

Diego Chavez had been in his second stint with Juarez, having previously been on loan to the club during the 2016-17 season.

Although he primarily played in his homeland, he also had brief spells abroad, including a stint with Spanish lower division side Salamanca, and a tenure with Peruvian outfit Carlos A Mannucci from 2022 to 2023.

Returning to Juarez last year, Diego Chavez made 46 appearances for the club across both spells, netting three goals. His last game came as a substitute on January 29, with his presence on the bench just days before his tragic accident during their 2-1 defeat against Chivas.
