Meta unveils game-changing Monetization scheme for Facebook
Meta is revolutionizing the way content creators make money on Facebook with the launch of its new Content Monetization Beta Program, announced on October 2.
This cutting-edge initiative promises to boost creators’ earning potential by consolidating three powerful monetization tools—In-stream Ads, Ads on Reels, and the Performance Bonus—into a single, unified program.
The goal is to make it easier for creators to earn across multiple formats and tap into more lucrative opportunities, whether they’re sharing viral Reels, long-form videos, photos, or even text posts.
For years, Facebook creators have had to navigate a fragmented system of monetization tools, where eligibility requirements and availability varied across formats. This often left many creators missing out on earning opportunities, with only a third of monetizing creators able to generate income from more than one of Facebook’s programs.

Meta’s new Content Monetization Beta Program aims to change that by offering a streamlined, performance-based approach to earning money from a variety of content types.
Meta has been a major player in the content creator economy since 2017, paying out over $2 billion to creators in the last year alone, as the platform continues to prioritize supporting its creator community.
With more than four million creators having already earned on the platform, this latest initiative looks to widen the scope for those wanting to turn their creativity into cash. Reels and short-form videos, in particular, have seen massive growth, with payouts surging by over 80% in just the past year, making them a prime focus for Meta’s new strategy.
The beta program is designed to simplify the entire monetization process by unifying Facebook’s existing monetization tools under one roof. Instead of creators having to meet different requirements for each content type—whether it’s Reels, long-form video, or photos—they can now monetize all of them through a single program.
The new system not only makes it easier to sign up but also provides unified performance insights, allowing creators to track their earnings more easily, all while ensuring that payouts remain tied to performance metrics.
In a statement, Meta emphasized the importance of this consolidation for the creator community:
“We’re proud of how our monetization programs have helped creators thrive on Facebook, but we know that the different availability, eligibility requirements, and sign-up processes of our various programs have resulted in some creators missing opportunities and others not being eligible to earn from all available formats.”
The company’s latest move is a direct response to this issue, empowering creators with broader, simpler, and more rewarding ways to monetize their content.
Meta has already begun rolling out invitations to one million creators who are currently monetizing on the platform, giving them early access to the beta program. For creators eager to jump in early, Meta is also allowing sign-ups through the monetization tab in the Professional dashboard or the Meta Business Suite.
Open enrollment for the program is expected to launch in 2025, and the response from the creator community has been overwhelmingly positive, with many excited about the new opportunities this unified program brings.
