Nigerian actress Mercy Johnson Okojie has endorsed incumbent Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for a second term in office.

The Nollywood star took to her Instagram account to share a scorecard of Sanwo-Olu’s administration, giving him high marks for his performance in areas such as healthcare, women’s development, transportation, entrepreneurship, education, and infrastructure.

While acknowledging that there is still much work to be done, Okojie believes that Sanwo-Olu has done enough to earn a second term and called on Lagosians to vote for him in the upcoming governorship election on March 18.

In particular, she praised Sanwo-Olu’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as his support for entrepreneurship and his work behind the scenes to help women who have been victims of domestic violence to support their entrepreneurship.

Okojie’s endorsement is likely to carry some weight among her fans and followers, as she is a popular and well-respected figure in Nigeria’s entertainment industry. However, it remains to be seen whether it will have a significant impact on the outcome of the election.

Governor Sanwo-Olu is running as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the ruling party in Nigeria, and faces stiff competition from other candidates, including Jandor of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party (LP).
