Mercy Eke reveals why she might never get married

Former reality star, Mercy Eke, of the Big Brother Naija All Stars fame, opens up about her thoughts on marriage and motherhood in a recent interview with media personality Hero Daniels, disclosing why she might not consider marrying in the nearest future.

The reality star shared her perspective on life decisions, revealing that she might not consider marriage again if she gives birth outside of wedlock.

Mercy Eke disclosed that she has been under pressure from her mother, who is keen on seeing her married.

However, she also mentioned her contemplation of having a child through surrogacy, acknowledging that she is facing expectations from her family regarding traditional weddings and the start of her own family.

In her interview, Eke stated,

“I had said that I was gonna buy a baby. Not like buying a baby. Just get someone, take my eggs, get someone to be a sperm donor, hire a surrogate, and have a beautiful baby.”

She explained that her decision was influenced by the pressure from her mother’s constant participation in traditional weddings.

The reality star’s desire for freedom of choice and personal happiness was evident as she expressed her stance on modern approaches to motherhood and relationships.

The former BBNaija All Stars reality star emphasized the importance of women making choices that align with their personal happiness, even if they differ from conventional expectations.

“So, I was like I could just have a baby. Happiness is happiness anywhere you find it. If you wanna give birth, you wanna get it elsewhere.”

Mercy Eke also shared her thoughts on marriage, stating that if she were to have a child outside of wedlock, she may not pursue marriage again.

She expressed the deep love she envisions for her future child and her belief that her love for her baby would take precedence over any other relationship.

“Now, that marriage sef. It’s like I go just carry belle, born, and rest. And, once I have a baby outside of marriage, I am not getting married again.

“Because the kind of love I will give to that baby, I will not love any man again. All my love, I will give it to my baby. So, I’ve only one relationship left in me.”
