Mentally ill lady loses child after giving birth under bridge in Kogi

A mentally ill woman is said to have given birth to a child under a bridge at Ganaja Junction in Lokoja, Kogi State Capital.

TopNaija gathered that the mentally challenged lady gave birth to a baby boy.

According to social activist, Chukwuemeka Mohammed, the woman gave birth on Monday night, October 21, however, by the time he arrived at the scene, the baby had died.

He called on the state Ministry of Environment to evacuate the dead body of the baby

He stated that the woman needs food, clothing and medical care.

“We got a call about a mentally challenged woman who gave birth to a baby boy under the bridge at Ganaja junction in Lokoja, so me and my team rushed down there but on getting there, the baby was already dead,” he wrote.

“Please am calling on the ministry of environment to come take the dead baby to be buried. She’s under the bridge presently, she needs clothes, food and medical attention. We are visiting her tomorrow morning, If you have any of the above to offer her please kindly take it to her or call us to assist you. God bless you
