"Men, don't be deceived by looks!" -- Tunde Ednut

Nigerian social media influencer Tunde Ednut has stirred up a heated debate on the sensitive issue of DNA and paternity fraud in many families. In a powerful Instagram post, Ednut shared a cautionary tale and offered some critical advice for men on how to handle potential paternity deceptions.

“DNA WAHALA!” Ednut began his post with a striking story,

“A lady told my friend, ‘This is your child.’ For six years, he believed it. One day, the mother left the child with him. He bought a DNA kit and used it to swab the boy’s tongue for saliva (that’s all you need). Without the mother knowing, he submitted it for a DNA test. After six days, the result came back that he is 0% the father. For six years, he was deceived. Now he knows the truth.”

It’s even easier to convince you that the baby is yours when the child looks so much like the mother. You go just feel say na the mama e resemble. Na lie! Be careful out there. I think punishment suppose for paternity fraud. Facts Only!”

Ednut’s words reflect a growing concern among many men about the trustworthiness of paternity claims. His advice underscores the importance of DNA testing in establishing true biological connections and protecting men from years of emotional and financial deceit.

The Reality of Paternity Fraud

Paternity fraud is a pressing issue that can have devastating effects on all parties involved. For the deceived fathers, the emotional toll and financial burden can be overwhelming, while the children, often caught in the middle, may face identity crises and emotional trauma. Ednut’s post brings to light the necessity for legal frameworks and societal awareness to address and mitigate such fraudulent activities.

In addition to advising men to be vigilant, Tunde Ednut advocates for legal consequences for those who commit paternity fraud. “I think punishment suppose for paternity fraud,” he asserts.

However, the better question lies on the conundrum; “who is at fault for paternity fraud? Men or the Woman”
