Mason Mount gains front row seat in Arsenal's decisions

Arsenal is reportedly in talks to sign Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount this summer. The 24-year-old is out of contract with Chelsea in 2024 and discussions for a new deal have hit a snag due to salary negotiations.

Mason Mount, one of the lowest-paid senior players at Chelsea, is seeking a wage similar to his England teammates, reportedly around £250,000 per week. The midfielder has already turned down a new contract offer from Chelsea.

Chelsea is keen to keep the exceptional player, but they may be forced to sell him this summer instead of losing him on a free transfer in 2024. Other clubs, including Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle, and Bayern Munich, have reportedly shown interest in signing Mount.

England manager Gareth Southgate praised Mason Mount, calling him an “exceptional” player. Arsenal’s manager Mikel Arteta is said to be interested in signing the midfielder and has opened talks with Chelsea over a potential transfer. It remains to be seen whether Chelsea will be willing to let Mount go and whether Arsenal can meet his wage demands.
