Martin Braithwaite ready for War with Barcelona
Barcelona player, Martin Braithwaite is proving to be quite the torn for Barcelona despite every antics and ploy by the club to force the Dane out of the Camp Nou.
Time and again, the player has informed the club’s hierarchy he is unwilling to leave unless his wages are paid in full.
Martin Braithwaite from the reports has reportedly received multiple offers from other clubs to pry the player out of the Camp Nou with the Denmark international hesitant to leave.
Barcelona has even offered a mutual deal that makes the player a free agent of sorts in order to foster his move from the Camp Nou with Braithwaite rejecting it as he remains intent on staying at the club till his wages are paid.
Martin Braithwaite along with a few of Barcelona’s players is seen as surplus to requirements by manager, Xavi Hernandez as the summer has seen the arrival of Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha this summer.
Barca has already made it clear his services wouldn’t be needed, even offering the Dane a letter of freedom that makes him a free agent but despite that, Braithwaite refuses the deal.
The player wants the club to pay off his wages before he goes seeking for a new club, and this obviously proves quite difficult for a Barcelona that is steeped in financial crisis and just recently registered its new signings after so much difficulty in doing so.
In retaliation, the Catalan club are planning to terminate the Dane’s contract on final day of the transfer market to make things difficult for him.
The La liga club has considered the possibility of legally avoiding the payment of Braithwaite’s wages by terminating his contract.
Martin Braithwaite was brought to the club at a time Barcelona endured quite an injury hit, opting to bring in the Dane in an off transfer period.
Since then, he has scored 10 goals in 57 appearances for the Catalans with his contract still valid till the summer of 2024.
