Marcus Rashford Should Be Manchester United Captain -- Danny Murphy

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has hinted at a possible injury ahead of the club’s Carabao Cup final clash against Newcastle United at Wembley Stadium on Sunday. The English international has been in superb form this season, scoring a personal-best of 24 goals for United across all competitions.

Rashford played for 88 minutes in Thursday’s Europa League match against Barcelona, where the Red Devils advanced to the last-16. However, after the match, he was seen hobbling and later posted a photo on social media of himself heading for the tunnel, along with a bandaged emoji.

There has been no official statement from Manchester United regarding Rashford’s injury status. The club is hopeful of having him available for the Carabao Cup final, with the team aiming to win their first major trophy in six years.

Rashford’s recent performances have positioned him as one of the top players in the world. Despite the potential injury setback, he has undoubtedly played a significant role in Manchester United’s recent success, and the club will be eager to have him fit and ready for the final.

If proven to be a doubt for the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United, and possibly for a longer duration, Marcus Rashford will be a great miss for the Old Trafford side on the back of a great season for Man United.

The English International can be seen as one of the best players in Europe this season owing to his fine form on the pitch with Rashford being reborn under new manager, Erik ten Hag.

In a number of games, the second leg fixture against Barcelona makes it the one time Rashford hasn’t scored in a match or assisted for Man United.

Rashford’s availability ahead of the fixture if confirmed as positive will be a huge boost and relief for the club.
