Manchester United vs. Leicester City: Preview, Confirmed XI

The Ruud era sees its end today as Manchester United hosts Leicester City at Old Trafford.

Currently unbeaten since Erik ten Hag’s departure from the club, former Manchester United player Ruud van Nistelrooy has filled in well in his role as interim manager for the Red Devils.

The Dutchman who begrudgingly took over from his compatriot after the 2-1 defeat to West Ham United a few weeks ago, has inspired the Red Devils to two wins and a crucial 1-1 draw against West London side, Chelsea when results most mattered to Manchester United.

Now, capping off his brief era as manager by taking on the same Leicester City side he started his role against, Ruud van Nistelrooy can build himself a win ratio before new manager Ruben Amorim takes over after the international break.

But this preview isn’t all about Ruud van Nistelrooy and his achievements, but what Manchester United stand to achieve as they welcome Leicester City to their home turf.

Currently sitting 13th in the league table, matchday 11 can see Manchester United over take AFC Bournemouth’s place on the Premier League table if they manage to claim all 3-points against Leicester City with a goal difference that beats the Cherries who sit 11th place.

However, the Foxes themselves are not far behind as despite sitting 2-points behind the Red Devils and in 15th place in the league table, have a chance to stun Manchester United with a win at Old Trafford.

A win for Leicester City sees the Red Devils falling to 14th in the league table, the same position Erik ten Hag left Manchester United on.

That said, victory or defeat is dependent on the performance both teams come out with.
