Manchester United vs. Fulham: Confirmed Lineup

The first premier league match of the season has to start with someone, and Manchester United with Fulham steps to the podium to kick off the 2024/25 season.

Old wounds are set to be reopened as both teams suffered some humiliation defeats at each other’s hands last season that very much could have changed their respective positions in the premier league table. That said, the 2024/25 campaign offers something anew as Old Trafford bears witness to the first night of the opening weekend.

What is there to fight for between Manchester United and Fulham aside the glory or perhaps bragging right? Well, a morale booster that sets the stage for the rest of their campaign this season.

The Red Devils are looking to regain a spot in Europe this term, on merit rather than a reliance for a cup victory like they had last season against Manchester City in the FA Cup. For the Cottagers however, it is to improve beyond their 2023/24 form, and possibly reach the levels they did in 2022/23 that saw Fulham quite formidable under Marco Silva.

Can both sides get their wish? Certainly not. Only one side has to win or lose, but both teams also have the privilege of sharing the points. But will they settle for that? Full-time will tell.
