Manchester United set to announce first signing

Finally, a smile on the faces on the Manchester United fan base as the club’s first signing of the season is set to be announced soon.

It is reported that the Old Trafford club has reached an agreement to sign Danish midfielder, Christian Eriksen as a free agent after his 6 months stint at Brentford.

The agreement is for a 3 year deal to join Manchester United immediately, with contracts being prepared and medical tests booked in order to finalize the deal this week.

The club manager, Erik ten Hag was key to the move as he reportedly phoned the former Tottenham Hotspur player two times to explain the process and project to him.

The Denmark international had confirmed his decision to Brentford who also were interested in signing the player for the coming campaign, and also to the Old Trafford club.

Eriksen was not short of admirers though as he was well sought after by Tottenham, and a host of other clubs after he was let go by Serie A club, Inter Milan after his heart problems at the Euros.

The Red devils have so far completed Malacia’s deal, along with Christen Eriksen’s, and now the club are set to move on to other targets like Lisandro Martinez who London club, Arsenal are also interested in.

With the Manchester side criticized throughout the transfer window for being nonchalant or quiet, it seems they are set to make a statement with two double signing announcements.

The news comes on the wave of star man, Cristiano Ronaldo worried over the lack of activity by the club and trying to force a move to greener pastures.

It is skeptical if the signings will give the Portuguese a change of heart, but it remains to be seen what signings will do for the player ahead of the coming season.

Although it is reported that Ronaldo has chosen to absent himself from the club’s first day of pre-season training.
