Manchester United reportedly Ready to Pay Off Ronaldo to Leave

It seems Manchester United forward, Cristiano Ronaldo will continually be on the headlines no matter how the situation is in reality, and just after the Premier League debacle last weekend against Tottenham Hotspur, the rumor mill and conversations are all on him.

True or untrue, it appears the Portuguese player and 5 time Ballon D’or winner is at the mercy of his critics and the media.

It is now being reported that for the club to get rid of the player, Manchester United will have to cough out almost £10 million to get him off the books in January, as per the UK Sun reports.

For the trip to Chelsea on Saturday, where the Red Devils played to a 1-1 tie, Ronaldo was benched.

Erik ten Hag, the manager of United, made the choice in response to allegations that the 37-year-old refused to leave the bench during last week’s victory over Spurs.

Ronaldo’s future at Old Trafford has become more clear in light of the entire affair.

Nevertheless, United face a pay-off in the eight figures if they wish to get rid of the player before his contract expires at the end of the current campaign.

With no consideration for any bonuses for league finishes or trophies, Ronaldo would get almost £9.6 million in basic pay through June.

Furthermore, it is thought that if he did refuse to enter as a substitute and was found to be in breach of contract, Manchester United would have the option of terminating his contract.

New footage came out in regards to the Spurs game of a heated conversation between the star and the United manager, Erik ten Hag which based on how the media paints it, doesn’t look good on the part of the player.
