Manchester United receive big boost ahead of Man City clash

If it isn’t the hands of fate turning its tides to favor Manchester United, then it is probably chance giving the Red Devils a fighting chance ahead of their battle against Blue neighbors, Manchester City.

The Manchester derby beckons on both halves of Manchester as the Red half set for a trip to the Etihad in hopes of returning to winning ways after the 1-2 shock defeat to Fulham last weekend.

Ahead of the clash, Manchester City have been dealt with an injury blow following their 6-2 triumph against Luton Town in the FA Cup 5th round at Kenilworth Road.

The Cityzens are now set to be without Jack Grealish for the derby as the England international picked up a fresh injury setback in the Tuesday night dance with the Hatters.

The 28-year-old was forced off the pitch before half-time in the 38th minute and had to be consoled by team-mates as he was replaced by Belgium international, Jeremy Doku.

Speaking on the injury situation for Jack Grealish, Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola had this to say;

“Looks like it [a recurrence of the groin injury]. It’s the second time. Hopefully this time he can recover well.”

Though not a setback that worries the Premier League champions, it leaves Man City short of heading into the tie against their nemesis with full strength. That in itself is hope for the Red Devils.
