Manchester United ownership creates transfer mishap for Ten Hag

The new ownership set up at Manchester United may not be as rosy as first thought, and if the current reports hold any waters, the co-ownership of Sir Jim Ratcliffe may be a hindrance to the Red Devils.

After reports had gone wide of United’s interest in OGC Nice defender, Jean Clair Todibo, the deal that could have seen the Frenchman at Old Trafford falls through due to UEFA regulations.

The UEFA rules come into play owing to Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s ownership of both Manchester United and Nice, who both happen to be two European Football Clubs most likely competing in the same Club competition.

Talks had reportedly gone into advanced stages with all parties keen for months but Nice and Manchester United with same ownership playing same European competition next season means no green light.

Following United’s FA Cup victory in May, the Red Devils may likely play the Europa League, same competition that OGC Nice will likely be a part of next season.
