Manchester United Finishes Above Arsenal – Gary Neville Brags

At this point, no one can tell for sure if Gary Neville is trolling on Arsenal or for a fact being realistic with his prediction of Manchester United finishing above the Gunners in second place.

Former Manchester United player and football pundit, Gary Neville, has predicted that Manchester United will finish in second place in the current Premier League season. Neville also predicted that Manchester City will emerge as champions of the league this season.

Neville made this prediction while appearing on the Overlap, where he shared his thoughts on the possible outcome of the season. He stated that his initial prediction, made a few months ago, still stands and that City will clinch the title while United will come in second.

The former defender went on to explain that his prediction is based on the pattern that tends to occur towards the end of the season, where a team that had been competing closely realizes they cannot win and subsequently loses momentum in the last few games.

Neville, however, acknowledged that there is still a long way to go in the season, with 14 games left to play. He also acknowledged Arsenal’s recent resurgence but maintained that his prediction remains unchanged.

Manchester United is currently in second place on the Premier League table, trailing behind Manchester City, who currently sits at the top with a 10-point lead. Manchester City has won the league title in the last two seasons and are looking to make it a hat-trick this season, while Manchester United last won the Premier League title in the 2012-2013 season.

Providing his predictions on the Overlap, Neville said:

“That is my inkling earlier in the season, what normally happens is one team gets so close they realise they can’t win it and then they just go like that in the last two or three games. You lose two games and then all of a sudden, someone else goes above you.

“I thought [Manchester] City would win the league and United would finish second two or three months ago. To be fair, I’m not going to change my mind about it.

“I still think City are going to win the league even though Arsenal, the closer it gets… but 14 games is still a long way to go. I still think United will finish second.”
