Manchester United faced a very predictable encounter against Bayern Munich in the Champions League in a 0-1 defeat at Old Trafford to crash out of the tournament in their final group stage fixture.

However, Erik ten Hag, the Dutch manager at the helm of Manchester United, surprised many with his post-match demeanor.
Despite the defeat and the team’s underwhelming performance, Ten Hag remained unusually upbeat in his assessment, crediting his players for their effort and insisting that “the performance was very good.”
In an interview with TNT Sports, Ten Hag addressed the loss, stating,
“We didn’t lose it [the Champions League group stage] today. We had some good performances, but we made some mistakes, individual errors from players. In the end, it’s not good enough, but I think today, the performance was very good, and we didn’t deserve to lose.”
Acknowledging the lack of depth on the bench, Ten Hag praised his team for their efforts against a strong Bayern side, highlighting the need for more options and energy from the substitutes.
However, fans were quick to express disbelief and frustration over Ten Hag’s positive outlook following the defeat. On social media, reactions poured in, with supporters labeling the manager as “delusional” for labeling the performance as ‘very good’ despite evident shortcomings on the field.
