Manchester United consider selling Cristiano Ronaldo

It appears Cristiano Ronaldo’s time at Manchester United may be numbered as new report reveals the Old Trafford club are considering letting the player go this summer.

This is according to Spanish football expert, Guillem Balague, who claims Atletico Madrid are the only club interested in signing the player as Ronaldo remains keen on Champions League football.

The La Liga club can offer him this as they have a berth in the European competition after seeing a top 4 finish in the La Liga table last season.

Balague’s claims is on the basis that Diego Simeone, Atletico Madrid’s manager is interested in the Portuguese and believes he can replicate the feat Luis Suarez had when he joined the club.

Atletico are believed to now be looking at a possible deal that would please the 37-year-old’s agent, Jorge Mendes.

“Manchester United have considered the departure of #CR7 for a while, Ragnick thought getting rid of him was essential for the good of the team. But only one club really interested but can’t adjust the numbers.

“Simeone wants him at Atlético to do a Luis Suarez with him. And CR7 likes the idea and might explain his behaviour.

“Atlético looking at all kinds of possibilities to please Simeone…and Jorge Mendes who has an exceptional relationship with the decision-makers at the club,” Balague tweeted.

If the report is as the journalist claims, the 5 time Ballon D’or winner may already have an out from Manchester United before the Premier League season goes deeper.
