Manchester United can’t Convince Ronaldo to Stay

Manchester United can’t convince 5 time golden ball winner, Cristiano Ronaldo to stay as reports state the Old Trafford club failed to convince the player to remain at the club for another season.

It appears most of the Red devils’ summer transfer window has been taken by a large junk of Frenkie de Jong and Ronaldo exiting the club news, and it doesn’t look like stopping.

Just recently, reports came like wild flames about a discussion between the club hierarchy, Ronaldo and his agent, Jorge Mendez  regarding the Portuguese’s future at the club.

In those discussions, former United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson who from every reports was one of the people to convince the star to turn down Manchester City last season, was brought in for the negations.

But even with the legendary manager’s presence, Manchester United can’t reach a compromise with the Portuguese star.

It is now in the reports that Cristiano Ronaldo is proposing his 2 year contract be terminated so he can move out of the club on a free this summer.

The protests follows the former Real Madrid and Juventus player missing the whole of the pre-season tour of Asia and Australia with the reported statement of family issues.

Even the talks with new United manager, Erik ten Hag failed to convince the 37 year old to remain at Old Trafford and in the plans of the Dutchman.

The acclaimed Greatest Of All Time is looking to improve on his brand image and vie for a 20th season in the Champions League which would be problematic considering Manchester United can’t play UEFA Champions League football next season.

According to the player’s agent, Ronaldo’s whole brand is built around the Champions League and him not playing in the tournament would bring consequences for the brand.

Imagine CR7 singing the Europa anthem while playing against clubs from far away Europe that are unrecognized by viewers.
