Manchester City star snubs teammate during celebration
In what should have been a moment of pure celebration for new recruit of Manchester City, Savinho found himself at the center of a social media frenzy after being visibly snubbed during the Community Shield trophy lift.
As Manchester City edged out Manchester United in a nail-biting penalty shootout, all eyes were on the team as they celebrated their latest triumph. However, it was the brief but noticeable moment when Ruben Dias bypassed the eager Savinho, handing the Community Shield to fellow defender Manuel Akanji instead, that caught fans’ attention.

The Brazilian winger, who had just made his debut for City after a summer transfer from Troyes, looked on as the trophy was passed around his teammates, visibly confused and eager to join in on the moment. Fans on X were quick to notice, with one commenting, “He kept eyeing it—he wanted to lift it so bad,” while another added, “It seemed crazy to me! Don’t know why he did it.”
Although Savinho eventually got his hands on the shield, posing proudly with Erling Haaland and Pep Guardiola, the incident has sparked concern among supporters.
Some are already questioning whether the young star will have to fight harder than expected to earn his place in Pep’s star-studded squad, with one fan noting, “Even during the game, he was often overlooked and shunned for easy passes.”
