If there’s one thing, Pep Guardiola has seen himself often times in the headlines these past few days than most football managers. And when on the headlines, it’s usually due in part to a funny statement he makes in press conferences or interviews that are directed either at something or someone.

And right now, Patrice Evra sees himself as the subject of a dig by the tactical genius, in his latest rant.

The Manchester City manager responded to Patrice Evra’s comments on his management style stripping players of autonomy and to feel like they are playable characters being commanded on FIFA playstation.

Guardiola though in his sarcastic mannerism suggested the dig by Evra was a ploy by the former United player to get a job at City rivals, Manchester United.

“I don’t want personality? Well. I don’t agree, Patrice! I don’t play. I need personalities and good players to play on the pitch.” The manager responded.

“I didn’t read it or know [what he’s said]. I have had nice, incredible players in my past as a manager at Barcelona, Bayern Munich and here. Most of them have won World Cups, European [Championships], Champions Leagues and leagues.” Pep boasted referencing his achievements and Evra’s criticism.

“Patrice, if we were together I would show you the personality and character of my players right now that we have, absolutely. Maybe Evra is right or maybe he’s doing a good quote to come back to Manchester United to work there. Maybe there’s a good chance now,” Guardiola added with a subtle smile.
