"Manchester City are going to beat Liverpool" -- Gary Neville

Gary Neville will not be having any dinner invite from Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp anytime soon following his prediction for the upcoming tie between Manchester City and the Merseyside team.

The Manchester United legend is banking on city neighbors, Manchester City to deal Jurgen Klopp’s side a heavy blow come Sunday in their bid for a second premier league title in the former Borussia Dortmund manager’s last season at Liverpool.

Speaking on The Overlap podcast, Neville expressed his opinion ahead of the clash.

According to the former Manchester United Right-Back, despite his personal desire for Liverpool to win and keep the title race open, he foresees City securing all three points in what he predicts will be a challenging encounter.

Neville remarked,

“What do you think will happen at the weekend? I think City will beat you [Liverpool]. I want Liverpool to win because I want the league to be opened up, but I think City will win on Sunday. I think he [Guardiola] will come and he will put a right job in.”

The upcoming match holds significant importance as Liverpool currently leads the Premier League table with a slim one-point advantage over second-placed Manchester City.

With both teams vying for the league title, Sunday’s clash will be a fiercely battle of wit and tactics between both teams for supremacy at the top of English football.
