Pep Guardiola, Liverpool manager: Could Liverpool surprise us?
While Manchester United began early negotiations to secure Sporting CP’s Ruben Amorim by activating his €10 million release clause, new developments suggest Amorim might have his sights set elsewhere—on Manchester City, should Pep Guardiola depart.
Renowned journalist Guillem Balague shared the twist, noting Silva has now been approached by United as a potential alternative.
Silva, who rebuilt his career with Fulham, has impressed in the Premier League, guiding his team to strong mid-table finishes and steering clear of relegation struggles.
This is somewhat similar to Liverpool’s managerial hunt last season that also had Ruben Amorim in the mix to take over from Jurgen Klopp. Unlike United, Liverpool did not reach a deal to fast-track Amorim’s move from Sporting at the end of the season.
As it stands, Manchester United fans are watching closely to see whether Amorim takes the reins at Old Trafford or if Silva will make the leap to Manchester.
Meanwhile, club legend Ruud van Nistelrooy steps up as interim head coach, tasked with steadying the ship while the club navigates one of its most crucial managerial decisions in recent years.
