Man United won’t make top 4 next season—Chelsea Player says
Gone were the days when Man United were the jewel of the Premier League, now, everyone is just looking at them like another underdog side who doesn’t stand a chance with the big guns.
And now, former Chelsea and West Ham defender, Scott Minto has echoed such feelings, revealing his own view of the Old Trafford club’s coming campaign.
The ex-player sees no point in the Red devils fighting for top 4 spot as he sees them not making the cut either.
He shares that, unlike the other top 6 clubs, the Red devils are ‘so far away’ from finishing top 4 or making an improvement to their prior campaign.
Scott Minto claims, even with the appointment of Erik ten Haag, the club won’t still stand a chance.
Man United have watched a lot of its high profile stars like Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata and Nemanja Matic depart without any move for new players in the window.
Speaking on talkSport, he said:
“I think Manchester United are so far away you can’t see them fighting for fourth next season. I just can’t see it, not at the moment anyway.
“Well I’m sure he [Ten Hag]is fighting behind the scenes to try and get players in. But at the moment, I’m sorry, you know the end of last season was shocking!
“They are a million miles away from finishing fourth let alone going for the title.”
With the world losing every faith in Man United, and their next season campaign, it may for once be the positive the Red devils need; less focus on them to inspire its stars to do the unthinkable.
After all, Chelsea proved it in the 2020/21 Season when the Blues for the first time in 9 years, won their second Champions League title with no one giving them a chance against Guardiola.
