Man United vs. Jarrad Branthwaite: Where both sides are at
Manchester United’s transfer saga takes a new twist as the club considers reigniting their pursuit of Everton’s rising star, Jarrad Branthwaite, following the collapse of Everton’s much-anticipated takeover by American billionaire Dan Friedkin.
The drama unfolded as negotiations between Everton and Friedkin fell through, with a joint statement revealing, “The parties agree it is in both their interests for Everton to explore alternative options.” This development leaves Everton in a precarious financial position, potentially forcing the club to offload key players to ease economic pressures.
Earlier this summer, United’s attempts to lure the 22-year-old defender to Old Trafford were thwarted by Everton’s steep £75 million asking price, despite bids of £43 million and £50 million from the Red Devils. However, with Everton’s takeover fiasco, United’s hopes of securing Branthwaite may now be rekindled.

A report from The Telegraph suggests, “Manchester United’s hopes of signing Jarrad Branthwaite could be resurrected following the collapse of Everton’s proposed takeover by the Friedkin Group.”
Man United might table a third and final offer, although it is unlikely to exceed a total package of £55 million, far short of Everton’s valuation.
While Jarrad Branthwaite remains a prime target, Manchester United has also been linked with other top talents, including Matthijs de Ligt, Manuel Ugarte, Adrien Rabiot, and Martin Zubimendi. The club has already secured the signings of Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro, signaling their intent to bolster the squad.
