Man packages fake wheat in Jigawa

Abdulhamid Zakar, aged 23, has been jailed, for attempting to sell adulterated wheat in Jigawa State.

 

Zakar, who lives in Gatafa Village, was arrested on Sunday, April 3, by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) at Hadejia Agricultural Produce and Grains Market with four sacks of adulterated wheat worth N144,000.00.

 

CSC Adamu Shehu, spokesperson of the command, said the accused was arraigned on March 30th, before the Jigawa State Mobile Court in Hadejia before he could sell the fake wheat.

 

Chief Magistrate, Mannir Sarki Abdullahi, has charged the accused in accordance with Section 184 of the Penal Code Law and sentenced him to six months imprisonment with a fine option of N70,000.

 

The exhibits recovered by the court have been seized and would be destroyed according to the command.
