It is well known that some women prefer big rocks in their engagement rings, but this Chinese man has taken it to a whole new level after proposing to his girlfriend with a 33-tonne meteorite rock instead of a diamond ring.
The man proposed using a huge meteorite
The man, identified only as Liu, made the eye-catching proposal on March 14 in Urumqi, Xinjiang province, China, and his girlfriend said yes.
According to local reports, Liu took his unidentified girlfriend on holiday in the past year during which they came across the meteorite. He reportedly asked if if she liked it and she said she did.
The eye-catching proposal attracted onlookers
Liu later contacted the owner of the meteorite in order to buy it. He eventually bought it for a reported price of one million Yuan, Ksh.14.8 million and when converted to naira, it’s worth N45.2m.
Liu’s girlfriend told reporters that she was very happy with the gesture and said: “This way was very romantic. I have never seen such a large stone in my life.”
She said yes!
