Man kills his wife, drowns himself after in Delta state

A man in Delta state, Ikedi Peter, has reportedly drowned himself after allegedly killing his wife, Prophetess Chikordi Peter.

Prophetess Chikordi Peter was the general overseer of the Ancient of Days Healing Church, Umunede, in the Ika North-East Local Government Area of Delta State.

It was gathered that trouble started around 4am on Sunday, when the couple had a disagreement, The Punch reports.

The Delta man was said to have ran to his hometown in Ekwuoma, a neighbouring village, where he jumped into the well.

“They were staying in Umunede community. Before we knew what was happening, they said the man killed his wife and ran to his hometown and jumped into a well”, a source said.

“The man died immediately. As it is now, we don’t know what actually caused the problem.”

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Edafe Bright, confirmed the incident.

He said, “It is true. The man killed his wife and killed himself. For now, no reason was given and investigation is ongoing to ascertain what actually happened.”
