Man in police net for killing 20-yr-old girlfriend

Jamiu Salihu, a 29-year-old man, has been apprehended by the police in connection with the tragic death of Miss Temitope Elemide, a 20-year-old university admission seeker.

The incident, which has been classified as a murder case, was reported to the authorities on Sunday.

According to sources, the young woman was killed at her family residence in the Bosero community, Olodo, located in the Odeda council area.

Miss Elemide was diligently preparing for the upcoming Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) before the unfortunate incident occurred. State Police Spokesman, SP Omolola Odutola, confirmed the arrest of Elemide’s boyfriend as a suspect in the murder case.

“There was a suspected murder report on February 25, from Odeda that a lifeless body of Elemide was seen inside the room stabbed with a knife on her head and body.

“There is one Jamiu Salihu, 29-year-old boyfriend, who is suspected to have committed the heinous crime. He was (allegedly) seen coming out from the bush on the said day of the crime,” she said.

Odutola said one knife, two iron rods, and one android techno phone were recovered as exhibits.

She added that the body of the victim had been deposited in the morgue.
