Man apprehended for chopping off colleague's ear in Lagos abattoir

A young man has been apprehended by the police after allegedly cutting off the ear of a colleague in Lagos State.

The man, identified as Bashiru Ahmed, was arrested for chopping off the ear of one Abdulahi Adulmalik on January 8, 2024. According to report, the action was as a result of some misunderstanding they both had last year, 2023.

 

Confirming the event on Wednesday, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police Command’s spokesperson, said that the incident occurred on Monday, January 8,  at an abattoir in Agege, Lagos.

He said: “One Abdullahi Adulmalik of Abattoir Market reported the case at the Abattoir Police Division on Monday.

“The complainant said that at about 4:00 am the same day, one Bashiru Ahmed, also of Abattoir Market, used a knife to cut off his right ear over a misunderstanding they had in 2023.

“The victim was rushed to the hospital where he is still being treated.”

Hundeyin said that the suspect was being detained for interrogation.
