Luis Diaz will find it Difficult this coming Season—Merson

The coming season will look to be a tougher one with the Premier League having new players to watch on, and for Paul Merson, he expects Liverpool winger, Luis Diaz to find it difficult in his first full season.

The Arsenal legend while discussing on the Reds’ chances of winning the UEFA Champions League next season, used that moment to highlight on Luis Diaz.

According to the Sky Sports pundit, he believes the Colombian will find it harder this season.

Merson acknowledges Diaz being a fantastic player but thinks game talks by opposition managers next season will be focused on the former FC Porto man.

The Arsenal legend states that the Liverpool winger is already a known man to opposition managers and players after announcing himself to the Premier League after his January 2022 signing.

The Colombia international scored 4 goals and provided 3 assists in the Premier League to keep the Reds in the title race last season and scored 2 more and 1 assist in the Champions League for Jurgen Klopp’s side to keep the hopes of a quadruple intact.

Writing in SportsKeeda, Paul Merson said:

“Unlike last season, Luis Diaz is on the radar this time around.

“When he first joined, team talks from opposition managers wouldn’t have really been about him, but now he’s quickly made the left wing his own and will find it harder to make an impact this season.

“He’s been a fantastic addition for Liverpool and should continue from where he left off last season.”

Rightly so, Paul Merson does have a point but the former Arsenal player should also consider that the team and Jurgen Klopp already knows this and would very much work on getting the player to adapt to the new tactics and whatever challenges opposition might come with.

In that, the pundit admits the player to being talented, is prove a better season awaits the Colombian.
