Liverpool vs. AFC Bournemouth: Preview, Lineup
Liverpool will be aiming to walk on from the 0-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest last week, while bearing in mind to not get burnt by new visitors AFC Bournemouth for a second consecutive premier league weekend.
Following a 1-3 win in mid-week on the road, the Reds find themselves a tricky opponent in the Cherries who so far this season, have been a modest side against their respective opponents. Much remarkable was their 3-2 comeback versus Everton in the 90th minute to salvage their first and only win so far after 4-games.
Anfield and Liverpool are a different opponent that AFC Bournemouth will find hard to deal with. Also, there stands the poor record the Cherries have against Liverpool when looking at the head-to-head between both teams.

Since 2018, AFC Bournemouth have only been able to score 4 goals against Liverpool after 10-meetings since the December of 2018. Of the ten meetings, the Cherries have only been able to record 1 victory against the Reds. This is of course a record that should inspire the visitors to put in the extra shift at Anfield, and if possible, copy what Nottingham Forest did last weekend on same turf.
A Bournemouth win against Liverpool, especially on same ground, will not only be shocking but also disastrous to the narratives already established about Arne Slot. It is public knowledge that the Dutchman and Liverpool raced into the league, winning 3 of their first premier league games including the derby against Manchester United. That game alone was PR for the former Feyenoord manager.
However, that situation changes if Liverpool faces a consecutive defeat at Anfield to AFC Bournemouth. That said, the story can only be written by the two teams who will lineup on opposing ends at the 3 pm kickoff time.
On the plus side, the Cherries will take relief at the knowledge that the Reds will be missing their number 1, Alisson Becker in goal.
