Liverpool vs. AFC Bournemouth: Confirmed XI

The premier league hostilities returns at Anfield as Liverpool takes on AFC Bournemouth in the second weekend of the English Premier League 2023/24 season.

Following a 1-1 stalemate versus Chelsea last weekend, Liverpool will be aiming to start on a serious note with a convincing display against AFC Bournemouth in front of their home fans if they hope to be challenging for a league title this season.

Bournemouth on the other hand played a 1-1 draw versus West Ham in its opening fixture of the 2023/24 season, establishing the fact that the Cherries themselves are not a step over this season.

The Cherries by every chance will be looking to pick up important points in the early stages of the season to avoid any relegation narratives in the latter stages, thus making their trip to Anfield a crucial one, compared to last season’s narrative at the Merseyside ground.

The 2022/23 season saw a rather poor Liverpool team rail road Bournemouth in a 9-0 stumping. However, the return leg at the Cherries’ home ground saw a 1-0 retaliation but the Anfield game will remain a highlight that the team will go back on in their return to the Reds’ home ground.
