Liverpool star trolls fans over his goal drought

He may be without a professional goal despite 8-seasons with Liverpool, but Joe Gomez would let that stop him answering a call.

Liverpool defender, Joe Gomez may not be the most popular player within the Liverpool ranks, but if he does have one thing in his arsenal, it’s certainly a sense of humor.

The Centre Back who has experienced some great form this season while featuring in a plethora of positions to inspire the Reds to the top spot, took some time to troll himself and fans via his Instagram handle.

Currently sitting as Liverpool’s long serving player since the appointment of Jurgen Klopp as manager, Joe Gomez has spent 8-plus seasons at the club without a professional goal to his account.

The English Centre Back whose goal drought has become something of a topic and a running joke this season took to social media to get in on the banter himself.

Sharing a video of himself playing the role of a Front Desk Call agent, Joe Gomez was seen answering a call and introducing himself as ‘Joe GOAL-Mez’ an obvious nod to the running gag that has gone on the internet this season.

He told the call line that he was putting his ‘goal’ on hold pending the eventuality he is able to convert a chance.

Of course, his fellow Liverpool teammates were quick to catch in on the joke, with Diogo Jota; Sunday’s Man Of The Match against AFC Bournemouth, typing ‘Sensational’ in reaction to the video.

Don’t worry Joe, we feel the GOAL coming.
